Trump - the "real deal"?
Sceptics are struggling with Trump. They claim it’s all “business as usual”. I beg to differ. IMHO the spat with Zelensky in the Oval Office is proof otherwise.
The ‘Zelensky row in the Oval Office’ was definitely explosive. It set a proper cat among the pigeons. The uber skeptics claim that the whole affair was theatre and was stage-managed.1 I disagree and am inclined to believe that what took place in the White House on Friday 28th February 2025 was both unexpected and unprecedented. Indeed, Zelensky’s intemperate reactions may have even revealed more than his handlers might have liked.
In essence, what the President Zelensky spat with team Trump exposes is the growing rift between the Americans and the Europeans, including Britain. Which, I would argue, is in itself an indicator that the Americans may well be trying to liberate themselves from the clutches of the Doom Cult/aka British Empire.
By allowing the (illegitimate) Ukrainian president President Zelensky to continue to embarrass himself in front of the American press corp on that fateful Friday in the White House, President Trump showed the world just what is going on behind the scenes. The truth of the matter is that the Doom Cult does not want peace in Ukraine, as was made clear through its mouthpiece Volodymyr Zelensky: it wants the war to continue.
The furious backpedalling that has occurred since the Oval Office explosion suggests that Zelensky may have said too much. The Doom Cult doesn’t need its desire for the killing in Ukraine to carry on to be quite so blatantly obvious.
It is no coincidence that Zelensky’s next port of call was Britain, including an audience with the king at Sandringham (time for a debrief with the handlers?). Then we had all the weasel words coming from PM Starmer about wanting peace but with “boots on the ground and planes in the air” while needing “strong backing from America”.
The war-mongering Darkness is desperate to trick the USA into staying in the conflict. The last thing it wants is for the Americans to make peace with the Russians.
The ‘Bullying’
The legacy media has since gone into overdrive to do its part by twisting the Oval Office bust-up as an attack on an embattled ‘hero’. But those who accuse team Trump of ganging up on Zelensky have deliberately misunderstood the purpose of the White House meeting in the first place.
What we witnessed in the Oval Office was a doomed attempt by Zelensky to ambush the Trump administration. By choosing to come to Washington DC nominally to sign a treaty, Zelensky consciously misled the Americans. A treaty he had already failed to sign with Treasury Secretary Bessent in Kiev, and failed to sign with VP Vance and Secretary of State Rubio in Munich. The White House visit should have been purely ceremonial with a nice lunch after a press briefing.

Instead, Zelensky took the opportunity to go back over old ground, repeating old Neocon tropes of how Ukraine is the victim of Russian aggression. He came prepared with a folder of photos of alleged Russian war crimes that he shared with President Trump. He tried to claim that the USA would feel the threat from Russia in the future if the conflict wasn’t resolved in Ukraine’s favour now – ie “fight them over there, so we don’t have to fight them over here”, which is how many in the US have justified helping the Ukrainians.
But Zelensky is out of time and out of place. No wonder his ambassador had her head in her hands….
Very, very ‘rare’ earths
From the beginning of his Washington DC trip Zelensky was likely acting in bad faith. There are those who believe that he was not in a position to sign a deal with the Americans anyway – because he had already agreed a deal with the British.
On the 16th January 2025, just before the Trump inauguration, the British had signed a 100-year treaty which according to some has hidden clauses relating to rare earths.2 These same rare earths were then supposedly promised in the deal on the table in Washington DC…
According to others, Ukraine doesn’t actually have as much rare earths as is claimed, at least not in the areas still under its control. Presumably the Trump administration was aware of the unicorn nature of these minerals/metals but was happy to include them in a deal as a pretext for US continued interest in that country; a way of guaranteeing its future security; and as a way of persuading the American public that there was some financial payback from all the tax dollars already given to Ukraine
Treasury Secretary Bessent had told Zelensky in Kiev that the point of the deal was so that there should be no daylight between the two countries. The deal would help to bind them together. But only if Zelensky agreed to talk peace. The US deal was contingent on peace talks with Russia starting first. Zelensky knew that when he flew to Washington DC.
No Lunch
So, why did Volodymyr Zelensky commit such a monumental act of self-sabotage for all the world to see?
And get shown the door at the White House, thus missing lunch? That surely in itself is unprecedented.
Whatever anyone might feel about the plight of Ukraine, its unelected leader is not a statesman. He was only ever a TV actor, going from a TV series, where he acted the part of a fictional president, to actually playing the part of a president in 2019. He campaigned fraudulently on a peace platform and powerful interests have been manipulating him ever since.
Zelensky follows a script and the February 2025 White House debacle exposed him doing just that – repeating the words he has been trained to say.
Even the clothes Zelensky wears are part of the ‘act’, attempting to brand him as a ‘proper’ wartime leader. He was actually asked about his lack of a suit by a journalist in the Oval Office press briefing. Wearing a kind of combat-coloured pyjamas is supposed to send some sort of message but in reality many find his dress-style disrespectful. Perhaps he is trying to echo other wartime leaders such as Sir Winston Churchill who had his ‘siren suit’ (a kind of boiler suit) but still addressed the US Congress properly attired.

Delusion vs Reality
Like other puffed up petty tyrants before him, Volodymyr Zelensky has not realised how the thin is the ice that he skates on. For such a long time he has been the darling of the Deep State leading their proxy war against Russia; lauded as a “hero” as he flits about the West receiving lavish praise and hospitality. He may not have fully understood that power does not lie with all the Hollywood celebrities who have flown over for photo shoots with him, or with the American Democrats or even with the great band of Western so-called leaders.3

Times have changed. Unfortunately for all those who back the current regime in Ukraine, the world is waking up to team Trump being the ‘real deal’. President Trump is making it as clear as he can that this administration is serious about achieving peace in Ukraine.
Already US armaments and money for Ukraine are drying up, as is intelligence sharing. The British have been told by the Americans that they cannot release intelligence to the Ukrainians. The American ‘poodle’ is no longer going to be subservient to the British ‘bulldog’. The ramifications are enormous. Quite how the ‘special relationship’ will survive remains to be seen.
If nothing else, Zelensky’s buffoonery in the Oval Office did us all a favour. It revealed that the Doom Cult that runs the West should really be called the ‘Death Cult’. They are hell-bent on taking us Europeans on a suicide mission:4
all for the sake of an agenda – the desire to destroy Russia – that was decided in London more than 170 years ago.
It’s Europe and the British that are in dire need of the Trumpian ‘real deal’ because we the people want peace. Once again the European people need rescuing by Americans but not from an external threat – this time from our own psychopath leaders.
Brian Berletic of The New Atlas, highly respected military analyst, is one of the most outspoken critics of Trump geopolitics.
UK Government: ‘UK and Ukraine sign landmark 100 Year Partnership - to deepen security ties and strengthen partnership for future generations’. As part of this treaty, the UK is committing £3bn a year to Ukraine “for as long as it takes” even though the UK government cannot afford to pay winter fuel allowances for its own pensioners…
Or even Republican Senator Lindsey Graham who has been a big supporter of Ukraine and who had met with Zelensky before the Oval Office meeting. Perhaps Sen Graham wanted Zelensky to sign the deal as he expressed horror with the row that ensued. Clearly Zelensky was not meant to burn his bridges with the US government quite so spectacularly.
Napoleon couldn’t defeat Russia; Hitler couldn’t defeat Russia. The British had a partial success in the Crimea in 1856. And they have failed this time as Russia has continued to make progress in its special military operation in Ukraine for the last three years in spite of all the NATO help
